In the cultural news, a Lebanese filmmaker, Simon El-Habre, won first prize at the Toronto Hot Docs Festival for his film entitled ” The One Man  Village” . It is the true story of his uncle Sem’aan, who ended up living alone in his village after all the other inhabitants fled during the civil war. I personally think that village life is what is the most wonderful about Lebanon. It is sadly rapidly disappearing as most villages have become depleted of their native dwellers and all the wonderful customs and traditions are vanishing. But I have high hopes that someday, people will flock back to their villages and revive their ancestral traditions once again.
