Christmas lunch in Beirut

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM BEIRUT!
My beautiful cousin Isabelle invited us for Christmas lunch.
She is a great cook and a fabulous hostess. I was thrilled to go and relievedas well.
Firstly, the tables were set up inside and outside on the balcony.
We had a few courses to wet the appetite:
Some creamy, light and citrusy tuna paté…
Some locally made goose liver paté… so good I wanted to eat only that!
A plump turkey…so moist…with a ham and mushroom stuffing.
Brussel sprouts and chestnuts sauteed in butter…
A mixed greens salad with lemon vinaigrette…
An assortment of cheeses…
A mango tart with pastry cream,
Putting the finishing touches to the Mont-Blanc (chestnut cream over meringues and topped with whipped cream)
And just in case you don’t fancy desserts, a little scoop of fresh fruit salad.

Your Christmas lunch looks gorgeous. Such a special Christmas Day celebration. I can’t imagine no snow at Christmas, but your photos have shown me that not only is it possible, it can be desirable!!.

En plus d’un menu très alléchant, prendre son repas de Noël sur la terrasse. Quel bonheur.
Joyeux Noël à toi et à toute ta famille.
Et Paix sur tout le Moyen-Orient.

Iove your photos, if I am not mistaken the photo of the building behind the beautiful Red Christmas Poinsettia
flowers is by Burj Al Mur/Riad El Solh Area….Love the Photo of Jounieh , and eating outside on the balcony….gorgeous view, I learned from my sisters that it was + 22C in Lebanon on Christmas Day, and here we were covered with snow and freezer rain….Oh God I miss all that beauty and my family and the weather and the nice people and yummy food.

Quel beau repas ! Je suis impressionnée ! Et en plus, vous aviez le droit à une splendide vue, le rêve !
Ta cousine a des origines françaises (Je reconnais un repas bien français 😉 ) ?
On December 29, 2009 at 5:08 pm
Oui, tu as bien deviné; elle est française de père! Mais elle parle et écrit un excellent arabe ( je suis très impressionnée par ça surtout!-c’est son père qui insistait pour que sa fille maitrise l’arabe!)
